Ankrolab Brewing Company
Ankrolab has a really peculiar look. From the outside, you see a spacious corner building, lined with thick metal paneling. It gives the brewery a unique industrial warehouse vibe.
What is contained within those austere walls is nothing short of brilliant. This “lab” prioritizes the brewing process as much as the taste, helping give the brewery a creative edge. Through a process of reverse osmosis, brewers reduce the base universal ingredient of beer to its core essentials- water. Through complex refinery, the water is stripped of all-pervasive additions and reintroduced to pure minerals. It makes the water exemplary, ultimately giving every brew an extra oomph.
The brewing company only opened in 2019, but it is already an important addition to the world of fine Florida brew.
Ankrolab is located at 3555 Bayshore Dr. You can find its doors open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Sunday 12 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Riptide Brewing Company
On the opposite side of the historical spectrum sits Riptide Brewing Company, the oldest brewery in Naples. You can feel that history coursing through the walls and the vintage décor. A large circular bar centers the space while large brewing basins are in sightline.
Wood covers nearly every surface of Riptide’s interior. You can also step outside and hang out on the patio enjoying a GREAT WIT Belgian Witbier, a RIGHTEOUS! Irish Red, or the Kraken Double IPA.
We also highly recommend the Undertow IPA, with its traditional West Coast crispness, as well as the lighter VITAMIN SEA NE(ish)IPA, a New England-influenced brew without the dense haziness.
You can expect anywhere from 10 to 12 beers on tap on any given visit. The team is also highly collaborative, providing guest beers from other local breweries, most notably Momentum Brewing in Bonita Springs (another excellent stop, if you have the time).
Unlike some breweries, Riptide also offers café-styled food, like sandwiches and hot dogs.
After eating breakfast or brunch near Lely Resort, you can seek out Riptide Brewing at 987 3rd Ave N in Naples. Their business hours vary, but you can reliably find them open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. (12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday).
Naples Beach Brewery
Naples Beach Brewery is two sides to one coin. On one side, you have an exceptional local taproom with a varied selection of seasonal brews. On the other side, you have a popular local food truck, with a rotating menu of Asian fusion, bbq, and tacos.
Some of the finest brews include the Backcountry Brown Porter, the Beach House pale Belgian Saison, and the dastardly Blood in the Water, a seasonal IPA with blood orange puree.
While Naples Beach Brewery includes a number of popular staples, including, the Basic Beach a classic ale and more, you can also see where willingness to get creative. Some of their more outlandish brews include the Boogie Gourd with its mix of chocolate and pumpkin pie, and the Cubano, a pretty golden ale with dazzling splashes of vanilla coffee.
Order their popular flight and have a ball bouncing from one drink to the other. The taproom is open Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Food truck hours typically begin at 5 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
